A Letter to a Friend

I wrote this letter to a good friend awhile back, but never sent it. In a time where true Christianity is not very popular, good friends are hard to come-by.

          Dear Friend,

Everyday I am encouraged by you and your family. Everyday I am thankful to God our families are friends. A friend is simply defined as a companion/comrade. We are soldiers, we must run the race with endurance, but how can we run alone? We can't, God helps us, and the right friends encourage us. God has blessed me with the privilege of knowing you, your brother, and your family. Friends (and family) can have a great influence on our actions and what we believe. There are two types of friends, one will squander in sin with you, the other will press you to grow. I am thankful that you are a friend of the later sort. I pray I can be an iron sharpening iron type of friend. I can learn as much from you as you can from me. I pray we never cease to learn about the One who saved us. In His grace I write this letter of thanks.

Your Brother in Christ,
Austin Ryan
